About Ask Nutmeg

Nourishment looks different everywhere. The need is the same.

Why Ask Nutmeg exists

Most nutrition advice is written for one kind of kitchen. But people everywhere have found their own ways to get iron, calcium, fiber and everything else the body needs, through lentils in India, sardines in Portugal, kimchi in Korea and black beans in Mexico.

Ask Nutmeg starts from that idea. Instead of telling you to eat foods that feel foreign, it helps you find nourishment in the foods you already love, and discover how other cultures meet the same needs.

What we believe

Who's behind it

I love food from everywhere, and honestly, I've always been happier eating than cooking. Lately, though, I've been cooking more dishes at home, and every new one teaches me something about the people and places it comes from.

Ask Nutmeg is my way of learning out loud: a growing collection of unique dishes and food traditions from around the world, and what they do for the body. I hope you'll find something new to cook, or at least something new to order.
